And you wonder why I am a liberal?
I wrote in the past about Leland W. Geiler, the first judge removed from office by the California Commission on Judicial Qualifications (now the Commission on Judicial Performance) in 1973. His removal was based on 23 instances of misconduct, including inappropriate behavior in chambers, abusive treatment of court employees (I had to drive him daily to a whorehouse in Chinatown and wait…), and interference with attorney-client relationships.
I was also an on-and-off-again bailiff to Noel Cannon. Her chambers were called the “Pink Whorehouse.” And,... yes, she did in her chambers - during the court day. She also had a habit of pulling her gun on lawyers and police officers if she took a dislike to them. Remember the movie Chinatown. Her courtroom would have easily fit in the movie.
Los Angeles in the 60s was a corrupt place.
I read of Trump’s Flying Whorehouse and it triggered this menory.
The two connected articles say it much better than I am able. I hope you enjoy.
